10 Steps on How to Size a Jump Rope Length

  1.  Find the center of the jump rope cable.
  2.  Stand on the center of the jump rope with one foot.
  3.  Measure the jump rope handles to reach midway on your arm pit.
  4. Make sure the jump rope cable reaches the bottom of your pec major.
  5. Take your height and add 3 feet to double check cable length.
  6. If shorter than 5′ 6″ then add 2 feet 10 inches for cable length.
  7. Reserve about an inch of jump rope to adjust for the first workouts.
  8. Take all measurements while wearing your workout shoes.
  9. Favor a longer jump rope length – it’s easier to jump rope with a longer jump rope.
  10. Double check measurements before cutting to desired height.

Points to Remember.

-Tape the mid-point of the jump rope for outdoor or hard surface use.

-Always have a vertical torso with elbows tight to the body when jumping rope.
