10 Steps on How to Size a Jump Rope Length
- Find the center of the jump rope cable.
- Stand on the center of the jump rope with one foot.
- Measure the jump rope handles to reach midway on your arm pit.
- Make sure the jump rope cable reaches the bottom of your pec major.
- Take your height and add 3 feet to double check cable length.
- If shorter than 5′ 6″ then add 2 feet 10 inches for cable length.
- Reserve about an inch of jump rope to adjust for the first workouts.
- Take all measurements while wearing your workout shoes.
- Favor a longer jump rope length – it’s easier to jump rope with a longer jump rope.
- Double check measurements before cutting to desired height.
Points to Remember.
-Tape the mid-point of the jump rope for outdoor or hard surface use.
-Always have a vertical torso with elbows tight to the body when jumping rope.
